MEET OUR TEAM

Innes Redmond: MVB, MRCVS

Innes is the practice owner of Lakeland Veterinary Services and has over 30 years experience in the veterinary industry. Innes graduated from University College Dublin and returned to his home county, Fermanagh, to work in mixed practice. He branched out on his own in 1993 taking over from Mr. Cathal Maguire in Derrygonnelly. In 2015, Lakeland Veterinary Services took over another branch in Belleek.  Innes’ main interest lies with cattle health and is based mainly in our Derrygonnelly branch. Outside of work, Innes enjoys playing tennis, walking and gardening.

Sonja Hateboer: DVM, MRCVS

Sonja qualified from the School of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht and after a period of working in Australia, moved to Northern Ireland to work in mixed practice. Sonja joined Lakeland Veterinary Services in 2011 and is based mainly in our Derrygonnelly branch and mainly works in the large animal sector. Sonja also has a keen interest in small animal orthopedic surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis and walking her dog Benji.

Aoife Ferris: MVB, MRCVS, CertDHH, GradCert-SAUS

Aoife graduated from University College Dublin and, after a brief period of working abroad, joined Lakeland Veterinary Services in 2017. She completed a postgraduate qualification in Dairy Herd Health and has completed a postgraduate course in Small Animal Ultrasonography with the University of Melbourne. Aoife is mainly based in our Belleek branch. Outside of work, Aoife enjoys working with her small herd of pedigree Shorthorns, sheep, hens and walking her dogs, Rua and Jess.

Theresa Ferguson: BVMS, MRCVS

Theresa graduated from the University of Edinburgh.  After working in mixed practice in Co. Tyrone, Theresa joined Lakeland Veterinary Services in 2017.  Theresa especially enjoys working with cattle and sheep.  Outside of work,  Theresa enjoys spending time with her three children and running.

Gillian Dufficy: MVB, MRCVS

Gillian originally hails from Roscommon and graduated from the University College Dublin. She joined Lakeland Veterinary Services in July 2021. She is based mainly in the Belleek branch. She has a keen interest in cattle and sheep medicine. Outside of work, she has her own flock of ewes and enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Rosie and Faugheen.

Liesbeth Mouwen: MRCVS

Liesbeth graduated from the faculty of veterinary medicine in Ghent (Belgium) and moved to Northern Ireland after qualifying. She worked in Dungannon for three years before joining our practice in 2021. Liesbeth works mainly in our Derrygonnelly branch. Her main interests are calf rearing and sheep work, as well as small animal internal medicine and exotics medicine.

Alicia McCrea: RVN

Alicia qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2016 from Greenmount Agricultural College. Alicia has worked at Lakeland Veterinary Services since. Prior to this, she worked for the Ark Veterinary Clinic since 2010. Alicia enjoys small animal nursing, in particular anesthesia. She also assists our veterinary surgeons TB testing.

Julie Wood: Receptionist

Julie has worked for Lakeland Veterinary Services, primarily out of the Derrygonnelly Practice, for over 25 years.  She works in our reception area and is responsible for all daily operations at the site.  Outside of work, Julie enjoys keeping active with her daughters, grandchildren and her dog Alfie.  She particularly enjoys taking walks / runs through the local routes around Fermanagh.

Lorraine McGloin: Receptionist

Lorraine has worked for Lakeland Veterinary Services since 2008. Lorraine works in our Belleek reception and manages the day to day running of our office. Lorraine enjoys working with small animals. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs Freddie and Archie.

Natalie Haskins: Receptionist

Natalie joined Lakeland Veterinary Services in 2020 and primarily works out of Derrygonnelly.  She has a background in Boimedical Sciences and 10 years' experience working within customer service, people management and finance in the private sector.  Natalie comes from a farming family and has a particular soft spot for the small animals that visit the practice.  Outside of work, Natalie enjoys forest walks with her husband, two girls and their Golden Retriever, Dutch. 

Katie Taylor: Receptionist & Animal Care Assistant

Katie is a Veterinary Nurse in training with a broad range of experience comprising reception work and interfacing with the public regularly as part of her duties.  She has excellent communication and organisational skills.  She is compassionate and particularly committed to animal welfare.  She also likes to travel and has carried out voluntary work in Tanzania and Vietnam.  Outside of work Katie has a full house with 4 children and 5 dogs so she is always kept busy.

Maria Delaney: Receptionist & Animal Care Assistant

Maria Studied applied science & veterinary care  assistant in Magh Ene College, graduating in 2013. She has worked in the veterinary industry ever since and joined Lakeland Veterinary Services in 2020. She enjoys developing meaningful relationships with both our clients & our patients. In her free time she, also runs a small business , enjoys going to social dancing and likes to bake lots of sweet treats. She has three dogs, Harry, Malik and Bonnie as well as her hens and Roodie the Rooster.

Mike McKersie: Practice Assistant

Mike works as our kennel hand in our Belleek branch.  He looks after the kennels and general maintenance of the premises.  He assists our veterinary surgeons with cases out of hours.  He is Lakeland Vets right hand man!

Caoimhe Leonard: Receptionist

Caoimhe is part of the reception team in the Derrygonnelly practice.  She is currently studying Veterinary at the Technological University Shannon in Athlone.  She has fostered a love of animals from a young age and is looking forward to graduating in 2023 to begin her journey in veterinary nursing.  At home she has Peat the cocker spaniel, and two Donkeys, Pepper and Emy, and her unique three-legged one eyed hamster Gus-Gus.
